1. Service description

Borderaux is part of BrokerTools and provides AI-powered borderaux and loss run merging for reinsurance professionals. The service is provided on a pay-per-use basis.

2. Account and access

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key and session.
  • You must not share your account credentials with others.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise our systems.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our written consent.
  • Exceed reasonable usage limits or attempt to circumvent spending controls.

4. Billing and payment

  • New accounts receive a free trial credit. Once exhausted, a payment method is required.
  • Usage is billed per-use based on AI processing costs plus a margin, measured in GBP pence.
  • Billing is processed by Stripe. You agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Spending limits are enforced for your protection. Contact us to adjust limits.
  • Refunds may be issued at our discretion for service failures.

5. AI-generated output

Borderaux uses AI (Claude via AWS Bedrock) to process documents and extract data. While we strive for accuracy, AI output may contain errors. All figures, classifications, and summaries should be independently verified before use in any professional, regulatory, or contractual context. Borderaux is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional judgement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrokerTools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Data processing

Your use of Borderaux is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you acknowledge that uploaded documents are processed via AWS Bedrock (EU Frankfurt) and are not retained after processing.

8. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your uploaded documents and the output generated from them. BrokerTools retains all rights to the service, software, and underlying technology.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
